Roe deer info:

England, Wales and Northern Ireland: (in season)
Bucks – Apr 1 to Oct 31
Does – Nov 1 to Mar 31

Scotland:
Bucks – Apr 1 to Oct 20
Does – Oct 21 to Mar 31

  • Rut is around July
  • Antlers cast around December
  • Delays implanting foetus until Dec/Jan
  • Most young born in May
  • Often has twins

A roe bucks testosterone is highest during the rut in July

Roe bucks will defend a territory during the summer months,  and will try to exclude all other bucks from entering it.
